90 B Company were fortunate to spend a month in Sarawak conducting joint exercises with 13 th Royal Malaysian Regiment in Sri Aman, south of Kuching: The Battalion have continued to have an operational output from Brunei, with soldiers deploying on Short Term Training Teams to places such as the Lebanon, Gabon, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda, Canada, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia. These deployments are vital in maintaining operational currency and experience for our JNCOs and Young Officers. Additionally, the Battalion provided valuable support to the Field Army, twice deploying a Force Protection platoon to British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK), through Easter and Christmas. The Battalion were delighted to once again win the Major Unit Champions Award at the Army Operational Shooting Competition 2018 in Bisley. Cpl Bishal Rai of C Company also won the Queen’s Medal as top shot from across the Army. He joins C Company CQMS, CSgt Sanjib Rai as the second Queens’ Medal winner in his Company. www.2ndGoorkhas.com
