The Association

The Regimental Association keeps the memories and traditions of the 2nd Goorkhas alive and enables former members of the Regiment to stay in touch. The correct title of the Association is 'The Sirmoor Rifles Association (Sirmoor Club)' abbreviated to 'SRA(SC)' and colloquially known as the 'The Sirmoor Club'. It is an officers' association based in the UK. Members are former officers of the Regiment, British and Gurkha, and include Seconded and Attached officers as well as Honorary Members appointed because of particular connections with the Regiment. The Association has two Gurkha Branches: The Sirmoor Club Nepal for all those former Gurkha Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment who live in Nepal, including the district of Darjeeling in northern India; and The Sirmoor Sathis made up of all ex-2nd Gurkhas now residing in the United Kingdom.  Any other information may be requested using the General Enquiries box on the right hand side of the Registration page.

The Regimental Trust, now called the 2nd Gurkha Rifles Trust or 2GR Trust, has a long history and is made up of monies accrued from the sale of properties, goods and chatels in India and Non-Public Funds accrued during the life of the former Regiment. These monies were previously maintained in separate trust funds but are now combined into one charitable trust, managed by a board of Trustees. The Trust now serves to support the Regimental Association and its branches and fulfil the other objectives of the Trust.  Any other information may be requested using the General Enquiries box on the right hand side of the Registration page.
